A Lib Dem Councillor has resigned from Littlehampton Town Council after two years of letting voters down, having been absent for nearly all meetings and events where she could have represented the electors of Wick Ward. In fact, many Littlehampton voters will have to head to the polls for the THIRD time in 2017 thanks to a second recent resignation from the Town Council, after the long-serving Independent Councillor for River Ward was convicted in a court case in June.
Littlehampton Labour Party candidates will keenly contest both of these elections, hopeful of being given the privilege of representing fellow townspeople. Labour has in fact had more councillors elected than any other party in Littlehampton in recent decades and stands as the only party in that time whose hard working Councillors have NEVER QUIT their service to the town.
In the last four years Tory, Lib Dems and Independent Councillors have all walked away from their service to you and our town. All the UKIP councillors deserted their electors to join another party mid-term. Labour never walks away, and when Labour are in control of our Town Council, the results always speak for themselves.
Labour established the Dairy Community Centre for our town, founded an Amenity Team to clear up our town, brought free disc parking to help our towncentre, pioneered the Town Bus service and gathered Heritage Lottery and regeneration funding to invest in our town’s facilities. These by-elections can be a first step to a return to creative Labour leadership, leaving behind years of drift and treading water with the Conservatives and the Lib Dems.
