Candidate statement

Make Labour your choice

I live in this part of Bognor Regis. I know our town deserves better from the County Council. Conservative County Councillors have let us down. They have failed to run the West Sussex County Council properly. The state of our roads and pavements are a daily reminder of that failure. Services that we depend on have suffered and our money has been wasted. For too long Children’s Services were underfunded and so poorly managed that they were eventually placed in special measures. Social care failure and outsourcing to private and other agencies has led to a cut in standards and money wasted. When senior executives failed, the Conservatives rewarded them for their failure with hefty pay-offs. All the time secrecy concealed failure and embarrassment.

So I campaign for Labour. We are determined that, with the end of the pandemic, improving our public services, employment rights and opportunities, and tackling climate change and prejudice will be the priorities. Labour councillors speaking up for Bognor Regis will make a real difference. So if Labour, led nationally by Sir Keir Starmer, is your real choice for the future then make Labour your party at the local elections.
